About me and why I chose this job

My name is Zarah and I am a Neighbourhood Officer. I have worked for Sadeh Lok since June 2009.  I started working at Sadeh Lok as a Customer Service Advisor and I worked in that role for over three years.  After being a customer services advisor I decided that I wanted to work towards being a Neighbourhood Officer.  

Training and qualifications

I have an NVQ level 2 in Customer Care and I attained my CIH Level 3 Certificate in Housing Practice (QCF) in 2013.

About my job

My role comprises of managing a geographical patch which consists of Huddersfield, Heckmondwike and Wakefield. I am responsible for managing Anti-Social Behaviour, carrying out property inspections, dealing with all aspects of allocations and any general tenancy related matters. Our main focus at Sadeh Lok is to provide good quality affordable homes in sustainable communities and we all strive to provide value for money and a customer focused service to our residents.

What I enjoy most

I enjoy the variety of work that my role offers and that there are always new challenges to overcome. You meet lots of new people in my role and I am often kept very busy!

What I least enjoy

The thing I least enjoy about my role is when we are forced to issue court proceedings and residents sometimes lose their homes. My role is to try to promote sustainable tenancies so when a tenancy fails it is very disappointing.

about me and why I chose this job

My name is Fulak and I have been working for Sadeh Lok Housing for over 4 years. I was initially employed via a staffing agency as an Income Officer. Throughout the 4 years I was given the opportunity to take on the role of an IT Project Officer on a temporary basis before reverting back to an Income Officer on a permanent contract.

Throughout my work History I have gained valuable experience in various departments of Housing. I hold NVQ, levels 2 and 3 in Customer Services and have attended numerous training courses.

about my job

The role of Income Officer for Sadeh Lok Housing is to maximise the income for the Association. My role is to work closely with tenants who are or will be affected by the Welfare Reform Changes and to provide help and support to allow them to sustain their tenancies. My main responsibilities in this role include, recognising tenants who may be affected by the Welfare Reform Changes, assessing their circumstances and ensuring they are aware of the impact the Welfare Reform and how this will affect them. Once all avenues have been explored, and to ensure I maintain the duty of care in not allowing the debt to increase further, I take legal action on cases where tenants are not engaging.

what I enjoy most

I would say the main thing I enjoy about my job is having the opportunity to work and get to know customers from varied and diverse backgrounds. I enjoy providing financial and debt advice to allow them to manage their finances better and to sustain their tenancies. Equally keeping a fair balance between the customers and companies best interest and maximising the Sadeh Lok Housings Rental Income

what I least enjoy

Understanding all avenues have been explored before getting to this stage I would say the one thing I least enjoy about my role would be taking enforcement action and carrying out Evictions.
