‘Your Housing Association Needs You’
After years of dedicated service one of our founder members, the current Group Chair is to step down at the end of his current term.
Group Chair Balbir Singh Uppal OBE commented “after 22 years of involvement with Sadeh Lok Housing Group from founder member to treasurer and now Chairman I feel the time has come to step down. These are new and exciting times for the Group and major change is ahead as we look to improve and develop the service we provide our residents, therefore I see this as a perfect opportunity to make way for a new Chairperson with fresh ideas that will strengthen Sadeh Lok’s position as we look to move forward”.
Group Chief Executive Ken Elliott commented “first and foremost I would like to thank Balbir for all his hard work and commitment throughout his 22 years with the organisation. Balbir has helped the Group achieve great things and we wouldn’t be where we are today without his dedication. This however is the beginning of a new and exciting dawn at Sadeh Lok. After a substantial period of growth we are now entering a period of consolidation where we can start to enhance the service we deliver to our residents and customers, due to which we are looking for a new Group Chair to drive the organisation forward into the next decade.
As a result of Balbir’s resignation we are now looking to recruit a strong robust leader to take the Group forward. In addition to the position of Group Chair we are also looking to recruit three new Group Board Members to refresh our pool of skills as we look to plan for the future. As ever at Sadeh Lok we are keen to involve our residents in everything we do, and this is no different. We want to see a strong representation of residents on the Board so you can shape the future of your Housing Association.
If you’d welcome a challenging, fulfilling role and have the passion to make a real difference we’d like to hear from you. As part of our Board you will be responsible for governance and leadership, guiding the strategy and direction of the Group and ensuring effective management and delivery of the organisation. Roles are remunerated but you may wish to volunteer your time and recover expenses only.
Could it be you?
If you are interested in joining our vibrant, inspiring organisation and can commit to a minimum of six evening meetings, plus other commitments, please contact Juliet Scott on 01484 477130 or email juliets@sadehlok.co.ukfor further information. The closing date for application is Friday 6thAugust 2010.
Sadeh Lok is an equal opportunities organisation and we welcome applicants from all sectors of the community.
